5 Snack Ideas to Pack for the Beach

Packing food for the beach can be time consuming and overwhelming, not to mention expensive. Let me teach you how to pack quick, inexpensive, and healthy snacks!

Let's get started!

Tip #1 - Fruit! Lots of Fruit!

It's healthy and kids love it! I usually grab 3-4 different kinds of fruit from the store each week. When its hot my kids love to eat fruit and I don't feel guilty feeding it to them!

  • Watermelon

  • Grapes

  • Pineapple

  • Kiwi

  • Mandarin Oranges

  • Whole Strawberries

Wash, cut and store fruit the day you get it. Store it in clear containers so its easy to see and stackable for your fridge and cooler. Keep your strawberries whole so it doesn't get soggy at the beach!

Tip #2 - Protein

I always add protein in my cooler to avoid melt down city! Cut it in shapes with cookie cutters or roll it up!

  • Turkey

  • Honey Ham

  • Pepperoni

  • Salami

These are my go to kid friendly protein choices. Its easy to pack and isn't messy for the beach!

Choose Boar's Head, Applegate or Hormel Lunch Meats. They are free from nitrates and a healthier option!

Tip #3 - Healthy Carbohydrates

If you plan on being at the beach all day its best to include some carbohydrates to help keep kiddos full and avoid getting cranky!

  • Rice Cakes

  • Almond Crackers

  • Annie's Snack Packs

  • Nut-Thin Crackers

Tip #4 - Sweet Treat!

We are on vacation right, so everyone deserves a little sweet treat mixed in! Wow Cookies are our favorite cookies! They are gluten free and taste delicious. They aren't perfect and they do contain sugar but I buy them for a splurge! The bags are Ziplock and easy for the beach!

  • Chocolate Chip

  • Key Lime White Chocolate

  • Lemon Burst

  • Triple Chocolate Chunk

  • Snickerdoodle

Tip #5 - Spring Water

Always, always, always drink spring water! Purified water is basically filling up your water bottle from the sink faucet. It is not always filtered. Fill up a reusable insulated cup for each kid! Label them with their names and each kid can carry their own! Doing so cuts down on waste and prevents trash blowing all around the beach! Some of my favorite kid cups:

  • Yeti

  • Rtic

  • Takeya

  • Thermos

Simple, Healthy and Easy Snacks!

Packing for the beach can be fun and simple! Less is more and grab a snack from each food group to keep a healthy and balanced afternoon at the beach!
